Civil Litigation, Business Law, Corporate Law
Civil litigation is a broad term. Basically, it is the prosection of a claim by a private individual or entity for the purpose of acquiring money damages from another. Obviously, this is an oversimplification as persons could also seek other remedies in a civil action besides money, such as an injunction (preventing someone/entity from taking certain action); mandamus (requesting the courts to force a public official to take certain action), habeas corpus (an order from a court demanding a person dentained illegally be brought before the court) and others. However, the overwhelming majority of cases heard in the courts of this country involve the seeking of money damages from another.
If you believe that someone or some entity has acted contrary to law and thus caused you damages, you may have legal recourse against them. Conversly, if you are being sued or if suit has been threatened, you may need qualified legal representation. Unfortunately, because the term "civil litigation" is so very broad it is not possible to list all of the matters Jeffrey C. Zilba is qualified to handle. Be advised, however, that Mr. Zilba has represented clients with such diverse issues to include the following: Constitutional and other civil claims against bureaucratic agencies in the states of Ohio, Indiana and Florida; Civil claims against the United States under the Federal Tort Claims Act; represented scores of people against major corporations for such things as environmental spills, hazardous material injuries and other class action matters.
Jeffrey C. Zilba also represents the small business person. He has assisted in the creation of corporations, limited liability companies (LLC), partnerships and other legal entities. Mr. Zilba works closely with other professionals to ensure that your interests are fully protected.
